Berry Creek in the Summer

Summer time Berry Creek is the absolute best time of year.
Our Country Club has a lot of different activities all summer long, our favorite is the Dive In Movies.

I recently started playing tennis and Drew has expressed a lot of interest as well.
So he enrolled him in tennis camp and he is having a blast!

We love hanging out at the pool.
No matter what, we can find a handful of families there to play with.

Our Dillo

As our summer swim season comes to an end I have to admit, I'm kinda ready for it.
We have been swimming straight since October & I need a break before club team starts up again.
The great thing about Drew swimming is that it is something HE chooses to do.

He even likes to wear his "swim underwear" instead of jammers.

We had our Division II Championship meet last Saturday against Brushy Creek & Steiner Ranch.
Drew nailed it!!!!

He placed 2nd in freestyle, 1st in backstroke & 4th in butterfly.

The three of us got together and had custom swim shirts made to support the kids.

At the end of the championship meet there was an award assembly where the high point scorers were recognized and given trophies.
Our little Dillo was one of those!

Swim Mom's

Drew's club swim team has an adult league that a few of the parents participate in.
These are parents who were swimmers in college.
The rest of the participants are much older and were also collegiate swimmers years ago.
A few are swimming just for the workout.

Then there is us.
Allison, Jami & I.

We are just swim moms.
Our resumes do not include anything aquatic.
Although Jami was a lifeguard in high school.

So here we are at 5 am attending our swim practices.
We find ourselves doing the EXACT drills that our 6-7 year old boys are doing.

Lesson Learned:

1. If my child wants to take his goggles off between rounds, I will let him. It really is hard to see out if the water with those things.
2. If he needs to take a longer breath on his side, I will let him. Breathing is HARD!!!!!!!
3. If he wants to play around on the kick board drills, I will let him. Who can resist the temptation????
