He is Risen!

We did things a little different this year. Instead of church on Sunday, we hoped to beat the
"twice a year" folks and attend service Saturday evening.
It worked out pretty well and even had time to snap a few pictures since we were not rushed for time.

This is what they look like MOST of the time, literally.

And this is typical Drew during pictures.
What you don't see is the other 15 pictures with Drew doing things to mess them up on purpose.

Ainsley Keane

"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."

"Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future."

"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years."

"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and... I believe in miracles."

Gruene, Texas

While we were in Fredericksburg, our fabulous babysitter Reagan, decided to take the kids out on the paddle boats in New Braunfels. Apparently, they had a blast.

"

We were lucky enough to spend the weekend at our FAVORITE place,
the Mills' River House in New Braunfels.

It's my favorite place.
Everytime Andy & I visit we talk about moving and we go and look at houses.
Then we drive back to Georgetown and reality hits.

Uncle David gave Drew his old XBox 360 for his 6th birthday.
He's only allowed to play it on the weekends, with the expectation of good behavior at school.

During our stay we got to visit David & Christen's new house.

So Dirk and Tina were in for a few weeks from Singapore, so of course we got the crew together to hang out for a little bit.  It just happened to work out we could all meet in New Braunfels at The Gristmill and it was a perfect place to eat, let the kids run, and have the adults all catch up.  It was also a beautiful day out, so that made it soooo much better.

Who would of guessed Tina and I would be dresssed identical?

Lets Celebrate

A few weekends ago Sean planned a surprise getaway for Adrienne.
These two had thier first baby in the fall and this was their first weekend away.
We all met in Fredericksburg and hopped in a limo for start our wine extravaganza.

I love this candid photo, Sean was secretly toasting Adrienne at our first stop, Grape Creek vineyards.

I love spending time with these girls. We might not go back as far as elementary school, but we have developed quite close friendships.

Our driver took us to a few vineyards that he claimed were "up & coming".
According to him, there are the "old school" wine makers like Grape Creek,  and several
new guys in town, like William & Chris.
Their wine turned out to be pretty good.
They even have an artist that sells his/her paintings which are quite impressive.

What are two Delta's supposed to do when we see pansies?

All of us at Rancho Pointe Vineyards toasting to Adrienne & Sean.
We're thankful for great friends and thankful for the weekend we had to see each other.

Until next time......

Austin Park and Pizza

Drew had his 6th birthday party at Austin Park & Pizza this year.
We invited a few his close buddies and played the day away.

Drew really wanted a Minecraft cake so I called everyone in town and could not find a bakery to make one. So I did a little bit of research on Pinterest and started baking.
It was very time consuming and I had a hard time putting the cake blocks in the right places.
I called it quite 3/4 of the way through and summoned Andy to finish it off.

The boys played aracade games, water bumper boats, go carts, rock climbing and laser tag.
I'm pretty sure they could have spent a full 24 hours there if given the opportunity.

My parents came down for the party and it's a good thing because Ainsley convinced Papa to take her on all the rides, over and over again.

Another round of family portraits

I'm sure my kids, and husband, get tired of having family pictures taken every year, and at times twice a  year. However, when you have a very talented sister who is a photographer and add in the cost of a professional photographer, you'd do the same as I.
