Labor Day Weekend, a long time ago...

Over Labor Day Weekend, which feels like a year ago, we went to the Boccella's lake house at Lake LBJ.  We had a fantastic time with our friends and our kids friends.

The trip included several hours on the boat cruising and singing at the top of our lungs.

The Boccella's house is in quiet cove which is perfect for little kids.
We took our breaks from the boat soaking and playing in the calm waters.

Mr. Boccella loves to fish and Drew was fascinated by all his fishing trap and trinkets.
Drew spent the majority of his time checking the traps for fish.

Mr. Boccella also took an afternoon and taught (or tried to teach) all the boys how to wakeboard.

A New Adventure...

This summer, not only did I join a swim team, I picked up tennis.
If you don't play, I beg you not to.
It's addicting.

I had been pleading with our club to start a "Tennis 101" class this summer.
I was told they it's offered during the fall and to wait tip then.
Well I couldn't wait.
So I recruited a few ladies in the neighborhood, emailed the tennis pro,
and *snap*, I have my "Tennis 101" class in the summer.

Our tennis pro is Sam Jones, SU alumni and Dallas native.
He had no idea that this group of girls would be a different kind of "tennis girls".
We DO like to play and I'd say we are 3.0's already.
However, we do enjoy creating funny team names and making T-Shirts over
actually PLAYING the game of tennis.

Luckily Sam is a pretty cool guy.
When we text him and say "wear pink" he shows up in Pink.

I did mention that we were addicted right?

So much so, that we got our husbands into tennis.
I actually think they show up for their lessons more than the girls do.
We have all met up and created our own tennis tournaments.
We draw names (we obviously can't play with our spouses) to see who our teammate will be.
We play 6 sets and the winner moves on.

These evening have been a BLAST and usually last 5 hours!

Meet the Tuckers

Andy has been working with a cardio doctor in the area named Dr. Tucker.
Dr. Tucker has a pretty famous son.
Justin Tucker.
UT Kicker.
Baltimore Ravens.
Superbowl Champs.
Dr. Pepper fan (see below)

Well Dr. Tucker has another famous child.
 Samantha Tucker.
UT Swimmer.
All-American

Every summer Sam works at Camp Longhorn and we were fortunate enough that invited Drew over to their house for a swim lesson.

Since we were in the area we stopped and had dinner at Ables on the Lake.
Delicious.

1st Grade

Over the past year Drew has developed a close friendship with these boys.
They have spent countless hours swimming laps together or catching passes on the football field.
Despite being in different kindergarten classes, they managed to spend every recess together.

I decided to take advantage of this rare opportunity and had all the moms run out and get Georgetown Blue jerseys and we each selected a number that matched their graduating year.

Until next year....

Beach Fun

We were quite surprised that after 4 full days at the beach, the kids never wanted to leave.
We rented a house with a pool because we figured they would want a break from the sand and salt water. At the end of the trip we swam in that pool zero times.

I'm guessing between the boogie boards, skim board and shrimping tools,
they had more than enough fun.

Dance party to DJ Khaled, everyone's hands go up!!!

The best way to contain Drew & Aiden is to bury them in sand.

The other ones thought it was so much fun, they wanted a turn.

Annual Port Aransas Trip

This year was our 4th year to head to Port Aransas during the summer.
We invited our Yankee friends, the Grissom's, to join us.
On our way down we stopped at Buccess's because the kids had to use the restroom & because the Grissom's had never been/heard of this place.

We stayed at the same house I had stayed in previously for a girls trip.
I love that house!!

Allison and I went shopping and bought the kids coordinating outfits.
Surprisingly the boys actually enjoyed matching each other.

Like all girls, they loved their matching suits & went as far as having matching hair and shoes.
Girls will be girls.

Despite the amour of seaweed, the kids were not grossed out.
We plan our trip at the end of July every year and we have never seen the seaweed this bad.

The kids started out the morning with a few yoga stretches and meditating.
Namaste.

The Grissom's actually taught us a few things on this trip.
Allison grew up on a boat in Maryland and is very knowledgeable with the sea life.
She taught us how to catch crabs in the surf & we ended up catching a handful of them.
They were small, but mighty!

Day 1 at the beach was successful.
The kids never complained nor did they get out of the water!

Swim Invitationals

The summer swim season with Drew's first Swim Invitational meet.
This meet is a special one because you have to qualify for each race based on your time.
He qualified in the 25 Free with a 22.55 time & the 25 Back with a 22.13.
He was ranked #6 in the region for freestyle and 2nd for his backstroke.

The meet is held at UT and is quite a circus.
The pool is split into 2 sections, boys on one side and girls on the other.
Both sides are running races.
Whistles are blown in every direction.
Swimmers are everywhere.

This is a pretty good picture that sums up just how crazy this meet is.
Can you see Drew??

We are thankful for everyone who has come out to support Drew this past year with his swimming.
This little guy has made us SUPER PROUD!!!

Now we have a month break until club swim starts.
