What was once a tree....

Is now a fire pit.

We are probably one of the few people in Texas who would say, "we have too many trees back here'.

It took us about a month to get it all done.
We still need to finish laying the grass between the stones and put the cap stone on..... but you get the picture.

Boerckel's Gemüsegarten

I treated myself to a vegetable garden.
I had every intention of building it myself.
However, Home Depot had another agenda.

Thankfully I checked my Groupon app and found a service that builds, installs and plants your veggies for you.
Don't mind if I do.

June 16, 2013
We have cucumbers, eggplant, spinach, tomatillo, chives, cilantro, green beans and serrano peppers.

I did not intend on having a wire fence around my garden, but when you have a 105 lb lab that likes to dig and lay in the nice cool soil, you have to take the it to the next step.

I even went ahead and planted my own lemon tree, thanks to pinterest.

A get by with a little help from my Papa.

Paul McCartney

Sarah is a teacher at my school and has become a good friend of mine.
She came to me last week because she knew I had previous experience with Stub Hub and wanted to know if it was a secure website.
She then told me that she was looking for last minute tickets to Paul McCartney. I knew Paul McCartney was playing that night but it had been sold out for months!!!
She informed me that he had agreed to put together a second concert  the next night and she was hoping to get some tickets.
As Andy & I watched the news later we saw the highlights of the show and I was so mad at myself for not getting tickets to see such a historic idol.

The next day Andy surprised me with tickets!!! Wooohoooo!!!!!

We met up with Sarah & Charlie at Scholz Garten beforehand and enjoyed the crowd.

He put on such a great show and I am really glad I was able to go. It was quite a scene seeing people of all ages and ethnicity coming together for his love of music.

Georgetown Aquadillos

It was a last minute decision to put Drew in swim team this summer. I had looked into it months prior and I knew it would be a great experience for him.  My hesitation was strictly based on the requirements as a "swim parent".  Daily practices, 5:30 AM alarms on a Saturday morning and herding kids like cattle for 3.5 hours is what I signed up for.

Weeks ago, after Drew & Jewell's date we headed over to Lane 4 to get sized for our swim uniforms.

The first 3 weeks of practice was pretty intense with several "cuts".
I held my breath every time they grouped kids into certain lanes because you knew which
lane was the, "I'm not sure you're cut out for this" lane.

We made it to the first meet in straight downpour!!!
We were lucky to get in 1 of Drew's races before they called the whole meet.

This past weekend we raced here in Georgetown and Drew was in his first relay medley.

Swim team is pretty intense and I have enjoyed getting to meet new people
and watch Drew improve DAILY!!!!
