B Cellars, Swanson & Cardinale

We booked the Harvest Tour at B Cellars which led us through the vines, to picking grapes, crushing, blending, and barreling.

Peter was our guide and he was quite a character with his British charm and all! He was very informative and at this point in the trip we all felt like we had a fair amount of knowledge on the whole wine making process so we started asking really good questions! It was interesting to ask why they did certain things this way and not the way another vineyard does it. I always like to hear their own personal justification!!

Peter was great and knew a lot of the other workers at the other vineyards so we chatted about our previous servers and he gave us recommendations on other ones.
Kirk Venge is their wine maker which is supposedly a big deal!!! He's is the highest ranked in the US.

After the tour we sat back on the terrace and enjoyed great conversation and more great wine!!!

Althea, our driver, recommended stopping at Calistoga Depot for a quick bite to eat. Neither one of us were really hungry but we forced down the food !!

Our next stop was Swanon Vineyards... They have a sweet shop where you can eat sweets and sip fabulous wine!!

The interior was painted to look like a carnival tent and was all done up!!! I'm not going to post pictures because it will not do it justice. You'll just have to go and see for yourself!!!

We dropped the boys off for some cigar time while Roz and I headed to Cardinale where they had a "Home Viewing" tasting. Rozlyn had received a magazine and this event was advertised so since it was the same weekend we would be there we had to go see.

The house was amazing!!!! The living room was one of my favorites because they had upholstered the bookcases!!!!!

I love the lime green in the kitchen, it's so bold and daring!!!
