Krause Spring's

Sometimes things appear to look better on a website than in person.
Case in point: Krause Spring's

It's an few minutes past Lakeway, which brings it to over an hour drive from Georgetown.
We met up with friends of ours who were equally excited to check this place out.
Did I mention the website showed it to be fantastic??

The water hole was surronded by huge boulders which made it very difficult for children and adults to move around. The boulder's in the water provided homes for the alge which provided natural water slides.

We gave up on the water hole and headed up to the spring fed swimming pool.

Park for All Abilities

Another summer day has passed and our tour of Austin has continued.
This time we visited the "Park for All Abilities"

After hours of play in the sun we drove to the local Hawaiian Shaved Ice to cool off.
Regardless of the terrible service, the kids enjoyed the special treat.
So did the bees.

That evening the whole family headed to Flix Brewhouse to watch Despicable Me 2 and eat dinner.
Ainsley did pretty well for her first movie debut. She got a little antsy at the end and we had to step out for a bit.

End to Swim Season

Swim team has come and gone this year.
It was a great run and I am very thankful that we made the decision to fo through with this.
Drew is a strong swimmer now and loves to compete.

Happy 4th of July

Andy is STILL out on his trip so I called up my girlfriends and we made a last minute get together in our favorite place, Port A.

Ains enjoyed the "girl time" more than I did.

After a day full of beach and backyard pool party, we cleaned up and headed to the Littleton's house for their annual Fourth of July party.

Drew had been begging me to take him fishing so I was glad that the palapa was stocked and ready to go for night fishing.

Hamilton Pool- Dripping Springs

This summer is all about exploring Austin and it's surrounding areas. Ainsley is at the age where she can tag along so I'm not worried about getting home in time for 2 naps a day.

We drove out to Dripping Springs to hike and swim at Hamilton Pool. It was once a cave that collapsed and has since turned into a natural pool. It has a great beach entrance and goes up to 30 feet deep in the very center.

We had a great time swimming and hanging out with our friends. The hike around the pool/cave was creepy at times. There were very small enclosures that make you think,
"is it going to collapse while I walking through?"

Obviously we made it out alive.
