It's now time for summer....

One of our favorite places to go is to The Mills' River house.
Since Drew's been on the swim team I can finally "relax" a little with him in the water.
Part of me is relieved that I don't have to worry so much, but the other part is sad because it's another sign that he's growing up.

Ainsley continues to be spontanous and outgoing just like her brother.
She is a fearless fish in the water.

Awesome + Beautifull = 2 BFF's

The date

Her mom set it up.
His mom called it a date.
He assumed they had to get married.
His mom said no.
He was confused.

Her mom told her it was a date.
She didn't think it was.
She was under the impression that every guy should take her to the movies.
She told him that.
He was more confused.

Good thing Mr. Chris was there to chaperon and to answer
all the "dating & marriage" questions that came up during the previews.

Houston, Texas

A few weekends ago Andy had to work a conference in Houston so I packed up the kids and we met him out there for a quick weekend getaway.

Drew loves going to stay in hotels and Ainsley joined him in the excitement.
We went on numerous "scavenger hunts" and "treasure hunts"!!

The weekend consisted of swimming, eating, swimming, swimming, sleeping, eating and swimming.

Round Top, Texas

Rozlyn & I had been talking and making plans to attend Round Top in the spring. We booked our hotel months in advance and it's a good thing too because we tried to get another one a month before and it was completely full!!!

I have a "favorite" shop in Georgetown that I frequent often and the owners are extra fabulous. They often sell their stuff at Canton and they always set up shop in Round Top. Once I told her about our plans to finally go she made me my own map and gave me the special tips to where to park, places to see and not to see.
I am very thankful that I got all her information because Round Top really is overwhelming!!

Once we got into Warrington and parked we were glad we did because within an hour that place was bumper to bumper traffic on a one way street.

We each had our buggies and walked around like we were on a mission.
And it was a mission.
A mission to find "stuff".

We were excited to see the Junk Gypsy's there and check out their tent. It seems that have "gone Hollywood" because they only sold souvenirs.
Bummer.

Round Top was full of incredible items and a lot of "what the heck is that"?
Like this cane......

After Day 1 we realized that we should have brought a bigger car.

One of my favorite purchases were these baskets pictured below.
On Day 1 we noticed they were everywhere and also with a heavy price tag of $60 for the big one.
I fell in love but could not imagine pay that ridiculous price.

The next day we hit up a section of booths that were strictly selling garage sale crap.
We walked around a bit then realized it was all junk so we decided to move on to another section.
As soon as we turned the corner we stumbled upon a row of really eye catching vendors.
Then I came across these wonderful baskets again.
With curiosity I asked him how much and when he told me I nearly choked.
Just so you know, I got 2 baskets for $40!

Mission Round Top = Success!
